Relax ... God is in control

You relax on a plane even though you don't know the pilot.

You relax on a ship even though you don't know the captain.

You relax on a bus even though you don't know the driver.

Why don't you relax in life, knowing that God is in control?

Faith Produces Patience

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." (James 1:2-4 WEB)

Let us pray: Lord, we want to be more like Jesus.  We know becoming like Him means we will encounter trials that will result in His character being formed in us.  Help us not to resist Your work in our lives but to rejoice in it.  Help us to rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance.  Thank you for loving us and help us to be worthy of your love.  In Christ's name, amen.

We Don't Have to Be Fearful

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

(Isaiah 41:10)

Proverbs 3:5-8 World English Bible (WEB)

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Don’t be wise in your own eyes.
Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.
It will be health to your body,
    and nourishment to your bones.

There are times when things seem out of control.  Those are the times when we need to look to the Lord and ask for his perspective ... his guidance ... to direct our path. He knows the plans that He has for us ... to give us a future with hope. When we call upon the Lord and pray to Him, He will hear us and respond.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come to you knowing that you promised to never let us walk alone and you are not one to break a promise. You know our concerns, desires, and hopes even when we don't know the words to express what we are feeling. We need you now more than ever. We need your perspective and guidance as this world around us seems to be spinning out of control.  Open our eyes that we may see your plans for us and open our hearts that we may follow your guidance.

We thank you now, in advance, knowing that you are the one that we count on to guide us through the power of your Holy Spirit.  This is our prayer in the name of your Son, our Savior. Amen.
